Teas & Drinks

Hydrate and nourish your body with a variety of healthy beverages.

Sun Tea

Sun tea is a flavorful version of traditional iced tea, but the heat of the sun infuses cold (or room temperature) water with a choice of ingredients, including herbal, fruit, black, green, or white tea leaves with or without caffeine.

Super Power Smoothie

This smoothie is my go-to breakfast during the summer. Filling, energizing, and up-lifting, it’s loaded with nutrients without compromising on taste. It can be stored in the fridge for several hours and used during the day as a "pick me up" instead of coffee.

Cleansing CCF Tea

This tea is usually recommended to drink between meals during the detox programs for its gentle cleansing effect. When cumin, coriander, and fennel are combined, they work together to support the lymphatic system and help the digestive system with assimilating nutrients and eliminating toxins.

Nourishing Chai Tea Latte

This tea can save your day (or calm you down on a hectic morning). I make this tea every day during the fall and winter when I need something nourishing to keep me warm and calm. This tea has healthy fats, protein, carbs, and spices to keep you going for a few hours.

Detoxing Green Juice

This juice tastes amazing during late spring and early summer. It is very hydrating, cooling, and detoxing. The best time to drink it is in the morning on an empty stomach, but it can be done at any time of the day. This juice tastes best and has the most nutritional value when it is fresh right after preparing it.

Bone Broths

The recipe to make bone broth is very simple and the ingredients can vary. The main ingredients are: animal bones and connective tissues, vinegar, different types of vegetables, herbs, spices and filtered water.

Plant-based Broth

Plant-based (vegan) broths are very healthy. They are full of vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes. They don’t have the same content as animal-based broths (bone broths), but they are still nutrient powerhouses. They can be used for the same reasons as bone broths: sipping them warm, as a base for soups, graves, and other cooked dishes.

Healing Tulsi Tea

Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, is a popular herb used in Ayurvedic Medicine for thousands of years. In Indian culture, the Tulsi plant is considered sacred because of the number of medicinal benefits it offers.

Elderberry Immunity Tea

Elderberries have many benefits, but they are especially known for their antiviral and antibacterial properties. Elderberry tea and elderberry syrup are on the top of the list of home remedies proven to be effective* to treat a common cold.

Boosting Chaga Tea Latte

Chaga is a type of medicinal mushroom growing on the side of birch trees in cold climates. Medicinal mushrooms are well known for boosting the immune system at the cellular level. This tea recipe can serve as a coffee substitute.

Homemade Almond Milk

I learned the art of making homemade plant milks several years ago when visiting Sanoviv, Functional Medicine Institute, in Mexico. I attended a cooking demo where the chef made almond milk in 5 minutes and no mess at all. Since then I have been making almond milk every few days… It is so much tastier and healthier than store-bought.

Refreshing and Energizing Matcha Tea

Use this tea for a morning “wake me up” or afternoon “pick me up” with less caffeine than a cup of coffee and more antioxidants than most popular beverages. In addition, the collagen powder and coconut oil in this recipe make the matcha taste creamy and satisfying with extra nutrients to keep you going on busy days.

Calming Golden Milk

This delicious, non-caffeinated beverage has the power to improve mood, help sleep better, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system. And it’s delicious! Golden milk is soothing on the body and soul. The ritual of making it and taking time to drink it slowly can be an excellent addition to a self-care practice.

Mango Lassi

Lassi is a traditional Ayurvedic smoothie that offers many health benefits. It is made from diluted yogurt and fruit or/and herbs and spices, making this drink more digestible, delivering plenty of probiotics, decreasing stagnation in the body, and providing nutrients for strength and stamina. Its cooling properties make it a perfect summer beverage.

Digestive Lassi

This smoothie is not only delicious but also therapeutic. In Ayurveda, it is traditionally used to help digest and assimilate a big meal, but it can be used a few times daily to cool the Pitta constitution and calm inflammation. The probiotic from yogurt helps to balance a healthy microbiome and support the immune system.

Hydrating Watermelon Slashie

This delicious and nutrient-packed recipe has only four ingredients: watermelon, ginger, lime, and Himalayan salt. The cooling and hydrating properties of watermelon and lime make this beverage an excellent choice for summertime, while ginger helps to keep inflammation and occasional indigestion, constipation, and bloating at bay.

Lemon-Ginger-Chia Drink

This beverage is medicinal. It can aid with digestion, balance blood sugar levels, lower cholesterol, keep the skin youthful, strengthen the immune system, and much more.
